MALTESER SLICE

Thanks to Baking with Granny for this recipe!

What's in it?

230g Digestive Biscuits

55g Butter
3 Tbsp Golden Syrup
140g Milk Chocolate
150g Maltesers

300g White Chocolate

8 Mini Maltesers Bunnies or extra Maltesers

How does it go together?

THE BASE LAYER

1.   Crush the digestive biscuits using either a food processor, blender, or in a freezer bag with a rolling pin.
2.   Slowly melt the butter, golden syrup and milk chocolate in a bain-marie or a heatproof bowl over a simmering saucepan.

3.   Add the digestive biscuits, Maltesers and chai to the melted chocolate and mix well.

4.   Press the biscuit mixture into a lined baking tray with the back of a spoon.

THE TOP LAYER

1.   Melt the white chocolate over a simmering saucepan or in the microwave in short increments.
2.   Pour the melted chocolate over the biscuit base.
3.   Place the Malteser Bunnies or extra Maltesers evenly spaced on the white chocolate layer.¹

4.   Leave to set in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours, but ideally overnight.

5.   To serve, cut into individual portions.

HOT TIPS

1.   The chocolate top layer will become quite solid in the fridge, so take it out about 5-10 minutes before serving to make it a bit easier to cut into pieces.
